2023 Year End Parking Report - Draft

The Municipality is seeking your valuable input and feedback on the Municipal Parking Program. This program operates from May 15 to October 15 every year, bringing significant benefits to the community. One of the key goals of the program is to provide ample funds that help enhance various aspects of the municipality. By introducing paid parking, we have offset expenditures related to important operations, such as bylaw enforcement, the Lion's Head Shuttle Service, and crucial capital improvements. We're committed to utilizing the generated funds to benefit the community in meaningful ways. In 2023, the proceeds from the program were dedicated to several noteworthy projects. These included the expansion and implementation of safety measures at the Big Tub Parking Area, ensuring a more enjoyable experience for all visitors. Additionally, we were able to improve the Wi-Fi connectivity within the Beach Area of Lion's Head, allowing residents and tourists to stay connected while enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Furthermore, we invested in the development of new playground equipment in both Lion's Head and Tobermory, creating more exciting and engaging spaces for our local children. The beautification projects in Lion's Head and Tobermory have also received a significant boost, resulting in visually appealing environments that make our communities even more inviting. It's important to note that any surplus funds generated from the paid parking program are diligently allocated to a dedicated reserve account. This reserve ensures that future capital projects, such as the Lion's Head Arena and parking lot, as well as sidewalk improvements in Tobermory, can be carried out efficiently and to the highest standards. By embracing this paid parking program, we can proudly state that it injects an impressive 9.27% of additional funds into the Municipal Budget, providing a continuous source of revenue that benefits our community's growth and prosperity. We value your opinion, and we strongly encourage you to participate in offering your thoughts and comments regarding the 2023 Paid Parking program in Northern Bruce Peninsula. Together, let's create a thriving municipality that offers exceptional experiences while supporting local initiatives.
